Betsy Ross

Betsy Ross may not have designed the flag. The only evidence is that her grandson who was 5 at the time says that that is what happened and some family letters. Historians only say it is a legend until they have proven that she made the flag.

Revolutionary War Battlefield

This is a Revolutionary War battlefield made in Minecraft. The white tents are the American army. The red tents are for the British Red Coats. Life as a soldier during the Revolutionary War would have been hard because it was cold, dangerous, and lonely without their families.

Mia (AUTOBIOGRAPHY)

My name is Mia. I'm 10 years old and I live in Santa Ana. I was born on October 28, 2005. My sister was born 8 years after me. I have been to Africa 3 times and Chili once in my whole life.

I love going to Africa to see my family over there. I have lots of grandmas there and a bunch of siblings. One of my favorite parts of getting there is the plane. I love planes. I like the food but most of all the view. But, I also like a big family photo when we come.

When I grow older, I want to start going more often to Africa. I want to go as much as I can because it's really FUN but it is expensive! Hopefully, I will get a great job and paid well.

Mission Failed (HUMOROUS FICTION)

3/13/16

On a planet far, far away, aliens that could transform into different things lived. One alien wanted to go to Earth. He transformed into a grown man. When he went, he had one problem, he didn't speak English.

The alien decided to go by stores to learn the language. He first went to a music shop. Heard someone say, "me me me me me me me." Then the alien went by a candy shop. A little girl said, "you stole my lollipop." So the alien said, " he stole my lollipop." Then he went by a restaurant. He heard "forks and knives." The alien copied that and went to a house. He heard someone say, "forever and ever."

Then when he was walking along and old lady had been hurt. A police man said, "who hurt this lady?" The alien said, "me me me me me me me." The police man said, "why?" The alien said, "she stole my lollipop." The the police man said, "how?" The response for that was, "forks and knives." The police man said, "how long would you like to go to jail?" The alien said, "forever and ever." No one has seen the alien since.

UNIT 4 - Summarize Your Learning

Think about the selections you read in this unit.

Why might people or animals need to adapt to new situations?

  • they might have to move
  • they might be moved
  • they might be kicked out of the area

Write three questions that you might ask someone who is adjusting to a new situation.

  • How do you feel?
  • What will you do to get out of it?
  • How will the world seem after you get out of it?

Compare and Contrast

My mom and I compared each other . We both have similarities and differences. It was interesting to see our difference. Like I am a young girl and my mom is an elder. My favorite part was when we found out my mom never liked things that I thought she loved.

An example of our differences is that my mom is a mother and I am not. Something we have similar is that we both like the same radio station. One similarity is we both like radio station but I know she doesn't like music that much. A difference we have is I LOVE history she is not a big fan. Another difference is I play an instrument and she does not.

Therefore my mom and I do not have many similarities  but in life we  have plenty of similarities. You can compare most things. It's awesome. I had a lot of fun comparing things and I think you should try it out. My mom and I found things we have in common. It's amazing how people can be so similar and you don't even now it. I had a blast doing it so I recommend doing it so you should try it out. Sometimes you learn things you never knew.

Emerald Cove Outdoor Science Institute

At science camp, I learned about trees and animals. There are 2 groups of trees, the yellow pine and the oak woodland. I also learned how deer learn how to watch for predators. I also knew how to calls like an animal. Many animals also are nocturnal like dogs. I held a snake and chinchilla. Another thing I learned is how to make face paint out of ash on trees. Rock hammering was cool. I had a bunch of fun!
