Bowers Museum:  Ancient China
The terra cotta horses are clay horses. The horses are small with short legs and a large chest. I was interested by  this  artwork because they had a different pose and shape. The impressive work for such a long time ago is asstonishing. The clay horses were made for the first chinese emperor's tomb.
Yue-ware spirit jars were used  as storage vessels for chinese tombs. There were 4 small jars surrounding one large jar. The jars looked like small houses. The birds and rats showed that the people of the under world still celebrated life on earth. They  believe that the jars were used for holding the spirit of the person the tomb belongs to.
The chess set that i was interested in. All the pawns were made with a different design on each one. I chose the chess game because it showed beautiful design and detail. The ancient artwork of china is mouth gaping.

Women's March

written 1/22/17
Women’s Rights March
Women around the world are feeling ignored. Even though they feel ignored, they still watch what’s happening with politics. I recently was at a Women’s Rights March. 20,000 men, women, and children came to stand up for women. I saw inspiring signs that said, “Minority + Minority + Minority = Majority,” “Men of quality don’t fear equality,” and “We can’t change the vote but we can change the world.” All of these signs have inspiring words. Women’s Rights Marches around the world matter to the world.
Marches are one of the best ways to let your voice be heard. The number 1 reason is it usually does not involve violence. When it is peaceful, it can have a big difference. At first, when I heard the crowd’s chants, I thought that they were aggressively yelling but when I listened, they were chanting words that would help with world peace.
I already knew that even before 1848 women wanted more rights (the first group of women had a conference for rights in 1848) but not until now did I realize that not only women thought that women should have more rights. Men, people who are gay, and every group of society believe that women should have more rights. Women have been trying for a long time to have more rights.
When one group tries to make something happen it is strong but when lots of groups stand together it’s so much stronger. Like I’ve mentioned before in this essay at the march many different groups came. You can accomplish so much just by working together from finding something lost to changing the world. Working together has made many things possible.

When lots of people walked the Women’s Rights March around the world it impacted the world. Women will be more and more persistent until they get what they want. I believe women should have more rights and the Women’s Rights Match gets us 1 step closer to more rights for women.

here's an article about the march: http://voiceofoc.org/2017/01/thousands-in-santa-ana-join-millions-worldwide-in-rebuke-to-trump/

The Study of Mummies

My group's scientist is an archaeologist. This scientist could investigate where a mummy comes from in the world. A question an archeologist would ask is: Where in the world did the mummy come from? This would help an archeologist understand what its culture may have been, how the mummy may have lived, what it wore, and what it ate.

To know where a mummy was found, scientists take good notes about where a mummy is found in the field. If you don't know where a mummy was found, you could also look at how the mummy was made because different mummies are made in different ways in different areas. Archaeologists use grids to divide the study area to describe where remains are found. Archaeologists can also use computers and 3-D imaging to model the mummy and see how it was made. For example, in the Nova video, The Emperor's Ghost Army, scientists used 3-D images to remodel missing pieces of artifacts.

Archaeologists are sometimes challenged when they find new evidence that has never before been discovered. To investigate the new evidence they would look at all of the artifacts found in the environment to help understand the new culture. They could also look for similar artifacts in the surrounding area because the groups may have been similar.

Archeologist may never know for sure where a mummy comes from because there could always be new evidence that adds new understanding. For example, we could learn that mummies were moved over time. Or, technology in the future might help us better understand human history.
