OC Zoo

We had a trip to Irvine Regional Park to visit the OC Zoo for zookeeper appreciation week. We learned about the training, responsibilities, and tools for being a zookeeper. We also learned about other careers for animal lovers such as marine biologist, animal trainer, and veterinarian.Mia enjoyed interacting with the animals out of their cages and visiting the petting zoo.

The beginning of the bones is when the famous scientist Charles Willison Peale got a letter form his friend in New York saying there was many big old fossils dug up from near places. He went to were the bones have been found and and found many more . He found all the parts to the mammoth and then put it together . That was the 2 complete fossil ever found . The discovery was put in peales museum.

At the Indian gathering that Lorettta Sanchez was invited to , something happened . She thought she would be with native americans but instead made a offending hand gesture that offended many natives. later that day it was said that she ran away from news reporters . Loretta says she got many offending call and apologized but also says she will not be pushed in nore out for running for office.

San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary
i went to a place called the wildlife sanctuary in San Joaquin . There i saw many summer birds.i also saw some cranes but not the bird kind and so i did see the bird cranes too.

Project: Solvania
Mia discussed her project about creating the State of Solvania with Nick. Nick shared his interest in sovereign states giving the example of the recent independence of South Sudan. We brainstormed names for the capital of Solvania and the top choice was: Moordeb, Solvania.
