Adaptations (EXPOSITORY)

There is a parrot that can't fly because it's overweight. He adapted by climbing trees to get food. It climbs trees by using its beak to grip and its feet to climb taller. It travels on land but this is a dangerous task. Anther way he adapts is its colors blend with the forest plants. Also, he can run fast since it lives on land. This helps him run from predators. He probably won't get a mate for living on land. No group of parrots have let him into their flock because he cannot fly but he still tries. This parrot has a hard life but makes the best of it.

Michel Lekika (BIOGRAPHY)

Michel Lekika adapted to living in a whole different country. He moved from Africa, his home continent, to America. It was definitely a big move. When he first came he walked across the street when he wasn’t even supposed to walk across. Now he has adapted very well and has a very good family.

The Mission (STORY)

I was a young girl when the missionaries came. My tribes shaman was the only man who spoke their language. My name was Nitogata meaning silver river and I was 10 years old. When our shaman said they needed help we were very happy we had made friends. I was breaking nuts when one man came to me about an hour after the missionaries came. He saw how I was breaking the nuts and I told him with sign language to try it out. He did very well. Then about 3 weeks later we started making the mission. I helped in the kitchen. Another woman worked with me. She was also a Native American who was very nice and helped me learn new techniques. Well that is all I have been doing for now. I hope more comes up.

Skirball Museum

We went to the Skirball on January 31st. Here are 3 things about our trip:

  1. First, I went to  a speech about my mom's work. The speech was about getting a better life by getting a job.
  2. Then, I went to  the Noah's Ark and played ALOT there. I loved playing with giraffe.
  3. Then, at  the end, we  played the drums in the Rainbow room.
I would go again to the Skirball. I would recommend the Skirball to other people.
